About Setting Spray
The Makeup Finishing Spray, often referred to as the Skindinavia setting spray, was invented by Allen Goldman in 2007 when he matched up a chemical formula that can safely cool the surface of the skin with the needs of a woman who he’d met later in Miami whose makeup had been literally melting off of her face. From there, he connected the need for a cooling technology with the cooling formula from earlier in the year to create the world’s first and only patented cooling-based setting spray formula.

If your makeup doesn’t look as good as the end of the day as it does at the beginning of the day, you could benefit from the use of a makeup setting spray. Makeup degrades, often, due to three factors: heat, excessive oil, and/or excessive dryness. All of our setting sprays (aka finishing sprays) combat the heat but our specific formulas are crafted to either deal with excessive oil or dryness.

Historically, makeup setting sprays have worked by essentially sealing your face. This, however, only helps makeup stay in place for a few hours at a time. To create a long-lasting setting spray, Skindinavia patented a cooling technology (that we do extend to a few product development partners) that keeps the makeup surface from becoming too hot and melting makeup. Our cooling technology also has a built-in time-release formula that keeps that cooling protection viable for 12, 14, and even 16+ hours.

The short answer is no. Any liquid can set makeup for a short period. Even spraying a light mist of water will fuse makeup layers together so that makeup looks blended. But what good is that if your makeup runs, cracks and smudges? What a sad ending to the day! Skindinavia’s patented cooling technology is fueled by thousands of tiny encapsulated fluid-filled microspheres of all different sizes. These tiny bubbles continually burst and are time-released to dispense different amounts of the active ingredients over a 16-hour period. The continual release draws heat away from the skin and absorbs excess oil, keeping the temperature of the skin cool, smooth, and hydrated … all while keeping your color more vibrant and your makeup in place for up to 16 hours!
